2023 Altima Performance
Two engines are available with this new Altima sedan. The standard one is a 2.5-liter engine that's found on the S, SV, SR, SR Midnight Edition and Platinum. It can make up to 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, which is pretty great for a vehicle of this size on the roads of Merrick.
The SR VC-Turbo trim is unique because it uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. Because it has a turbocharger, it's able to do much more. It can deliver up to 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. It's something to consider if you really want to maximize your power throughout Brooklyn and have a more thrilling experience behind the wheel. Also note that the SR VC-Turbo comes with a sport-tuned suspension, paddle shifters and a manual shift mode.
Nearly all Altima trims can be equipped with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. However, there are two trims that are only available with front-wheel drive: the entry-level S and the SR VC-Turbo trim. Regardless of what engine or type of drivetrain you select, you'll have an Xtronic continuously variable transmission.
The Altima is quite efficient with its fuel in the New Hyde Park area. You can drive it up to 28 miles per gallon in the city and up to 39 miles per gallon on the highway. With all-wheel drive or the turbocharged engine, the Altima is only slightly less efficient.
2023 Altima Safety
The new Altima benefits from having many advanced safety features. These include lane departure warning, forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Starting at the SV level, Freeport shoppers can enjoy an even more robust safety package that includes blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and rear automatic braking. Besides just having lane departure warning, the Altima can help you steer back if you drift out of your lane. The SL and Platinum trims have this ability, thanks to a technology called Intelligent Lane Intervention. Further, every new Altima in the Oceanside area has a rear view monitor, with higher trims having a surround view monitor.
2023 Altima Interior Features
The cabin of the new Nissan Altima sedan is comfortable and Valley Stream shoppers can add various elements to add to its sophistication. For instance, the driver's seat can be a power-adjustable version with power lumbar support and a memory system. Leather upholstery is available on higher trims, and the front seats can be heated. The steering wheel can even have a heating element built into it to help keep Baldwin drivers' hands warm in the winter. Another component that can be used to keep people comfortable is the available dual-zone automatic temperature control system. It's nice that Nissan has given the entire lineup of Altima cars a remote start function, push-button ignition and Nissan Intelligent Key.
Of course, we have to mention the technology in the cabin. The S trim starts out with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, and it comes with voice recognition, Bluetooth® and Siri Eyes Free. All the other trims have an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, SiriusXM® and more. The Altima has up to four USB ports so that you and your passengers don't have to compete for access on your journey out of Lynbrook. Higher trims can be equipped with navigation and SiriusXM® Traffic and Travel Link.
